Next week some fruit trees will be planted on the land adjacent to Jubilee Field to form an orchard. This is being done to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III but will also be recorded as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee.
The site is intended as a place of relaxation and enjoyment for local residents and visitors alike. The trees are a mixture of apples and pears which will, when matured, offer an enjoyable healthy snack.
Seating is also planned for the area so there is somewhere to sit and enjoy the surroundings.
