Hawley Pavilion Trust Meeting
NOTICE TO INHABITANTS - The trustees of Hawley Pavilion Trust wish to inform local inhabitants of proposed changes to the charity and its future arrangements.

The current lease of Hawley Pavilion is due to expire in 2031. The trustees are proposing the following:
These changes are proposed to provide a more modern and effective governance structure for the long-term management of the charity and its assets. Under the Charity’s existing Constitution, a meeting of local inhabitants aged 18 and over must be held before the assets can be transferred and the following resolution must be confirmed by a three quarters majority of the inhabitants at the said meeting. A meeting of residents aged 18 and over who live in the parish will therefore be held as follows: Date: Thursday 21st May 2026 Time: 6pm Place: Hawley Pavilion At the meeting, the following Resolution will be proposed for approval:- RESOLUTIONS That the meeting of inhabitants of the Sutton-at-Hone and Hawley in the County of Kent, aged 18 years and over, having been duly convened and having considered the proposals put before it RESOLVES as follows:- 1. Establishment of CIO 1.1. That a new charitable incorporated organisation with the same or substantially similar objects as the Charity is established. 1.2. That Sutton-at-Hone & Hawley Parish Council will be the sole corporate trustee of the Charity 1.3. That the inhabitants will no longer have any voting rights in relation to the Charity. 2. Transfer of assets Subject to compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, the inhabitants approve the transfer of all of the Charity’s assets and liabilities to the CIO, on terms that the CIO will apply such assets solely for charitable purposes consistent with those of the Charity. 3. New lease arrangements The inhabitants approve, in principle, that the CIO will enter into a new lease or licence (TBC) of the Village Hall with the Parish Council, to take effect following the expiry or earlier surrender of the existing lease.
